FAQ - BioEFA
What fish sources do you use for the BioEFA?
4Life uses Sardines, Macheral, and Salmon from the Artic Ocean and Norwegian Sea.
Why should I use the BioEFA supplement?
The EFA stands for Essential Fatty Acids. They have been shown to be helpful in many different functions in the body such as improving skin and hair, supporting joint mobility, slowing platelet activity in blood vessels and aiding in nerve impulses from the brain.
Why is BioEFA included as part of the Fibromyalgia recovery program?
Essential Fatty Acids have anti-inflammatory properties and support muscle tissue strength and health. EFAs have been shown to help relieve swelling in the joints1. Its circulatory enhancing properties can help support nutrient transport through the bloodstream more effectively1,2,3.

HEALTH TIPS:
Did you know that circulatory and nervous system health, concentration and child health can all be adversely affected if Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) are missing? EFAs (also called Omega Fatty Acids) are polyunsaturated and considered "the good fats" because they are essential to total body health. In fact, few naturally occurring nutrients are as beneficial to such a wide range of body systems as EFAs are.
Where to Find EFAs:
EFAs are abundantly available in fish oils and also plant oils (like flaxseed and borage). Those who consume fish and healthy plant oils each day, receive the tremendous health benefits associated with EFAs, but unfortunately not many do. That's where supplementation can help. By taking supplements rich in these oils, you can enjoy these benefits without eating fish and plant oils each day. When seeking an EFAs supplement, make sure it is a complete EFA and includes: Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA), Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), Eicosapentanoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA).
Health Benefits of EFAs:
EFAs are most recognized for their benefit to the circulatory system. Plaque build-up in the arteries leads to heart disease, and if given enough time to accumulate may result in a heart attack or stroke. EFAs keep the arteries clean or, if they aren't clean, may slow the effects of plaque build-up, lessening risk factors involved with heart disease.1,2 EFAs are commonly recognized to help lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels as well.
EFAs benefit children.
A compelling study with children showed that those with lower levels of Omega-3 fatty acids were shown to be more prone to temper tantrums and sleep problems.3,4 While some experiences for children may be normal and necessary as the child learns and grows, the fact that supplementing with EFAs may help alleviate some of these makes parents and kids happier. Imagine the terrible two's turning into the terrific two's.
EFAs are used as treatments for several mental disorders and nervous system support.
EFAs have been used as treatment for schizophrenia, hyperactivity, dyslexia, senility and bipolar disorder.5,6 Since many of these conditions are difficult to watch and deal with the EFAs can stand as a possible preventative method.
EFAS have been shown to benefit immune function.
Separate reports inform us that EFAs are helpful with allergies7, tumors and HIV8 and more. Immune support with EFAs may be critical as our bodies face immune challenges
Diabetics are benefited by EFA supplementation.
Diabetic sores caused by poor circulation and nerve dysfunction are prominent with Diabetes. EFAs can help keep blood cells healthy and work with the nerve sites within the diabetics.9
Healthy skin can come from EFAs.
You first protective layer against the harms of the world is the skin. Unhealthy skin develops rashes, eczema and dermatitis more often and these take longer to heal if they heal at all. Use of an EFA supplement can improve these types of skin condition.9
Healthy infant brain development because of EFA use.
EFAs, specifically DHA, received during pregnancy as well as after, benefit the healthy formation of retina and brain tissue of the developing child.10,11
Metabolism (the synthesis of nutrients) is helped by EFAs.
Studies show that intake of EFAs benefit metabolism in the body when routine body functions such as cell repair9 or energy production14 may need assistance
CLA Is Not Essential, But Important Still.
Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) is a fatty acid but is not considered among the Essential Fatty Acids, but are still highly beneficial to the cardio and circulatory system health. CLA also has been shown to reduce body fat, improve muscle strength and reduce inflammation.12,13
Summary:
The use of EFAs continues to gain recognition. It is one of a few kinds of supplements available that can be used safely by nearly anyone. EFAs have proven benefits, with new discoveries all the time (Thousands of published studies have been recorded). Begin now to benefit from the use of an EFA supplement to provide your body with the greatest advantage at health.
